Emergency road closure: Church Street Saffron Walden 

An unsafe structure has been identified on Church Street, Saffron Walden requiring immediate action to protect public safety.

As a result, an emergency road closure will be implemented from 3.30pm today (Monday 24 August). The closure will extend from the roundabout at the top of the Common, affecting access to Church Street from Ashdon Road, Castle Hill and Common Hill.

Church Street is open, with access to Museum Street, from the High Street, which is temporarily two-way.  

The closure is expected to be in place for up to 5 working days while safety works are undertaken.

Please keep clear of the area and respect all barriers and signage. We appreciate the community's cooperation while these urgent works are carried out.
