The Parish Prayer meeting lasts for 30 minutes and is usually led by one of the clergy team. At the beginning of the prayer time any particular topics for prayer are noted. These are usually relevant to the church in Saffron Walden but can also include areas of concern which are further afield, in the nation and in the world.
This is followed by a time of open prayer when anyone is free to pray aloud or just pray in silence for the issues raised.
We take donations-in-kind and fresh fruit and vegetables on the first Sunday of the month to Jimmy’s on behalf of the Church.
Donations can be left by the Jimmy’s noticeboard or with Tim Game.
Click here for details about the types of donations they are very grateful to receive.
This early morning communion service uses the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer. There are no hymns, and there is a short sermon or talk. The service takes 40 minutes.
Team JC is our Sunday Club for children aged 3 to 11. We meet 9.45 for 10am – during term time – apart from every 3rd Sunday – when you are warmly invited to the Family Service in St. Mary’s which starts at 10am.
Please come to the Parish Rooms at 9.45 for waffles and chocolate. We then continue at 10am with stories, games and craft, and finish in St. Mary’s Church at about 10.30am.
This communion service uses modern language liturgy from Common Worship and includes hymns and an anthem from the choir along with a sermon. During this time our children’s group, Team JC, meets nearby in the Parish Rooms and joins us just before we receive communion. The service lasts about an hour and a quarter and refreshments are served afterwards.
Prayer for yourself or someone in your heart will be offered during communion at the back of St Mary’s (near the card table).
Simply go there, and take a seat, until the Prayer Ministry Team are ready for you
Café-style worship led by our Youth Group, Aftershock. H2H takes place in the Parish Rooms.
