St Mary's C.E. Primary School
At St. Mary’s C.E. (Voluntary Aided) Primary School, 'We Aspire for Excellence in a Christian Learning Environment'. The school was built by the Church on this site in 1845 and has close links with St Mary's Church Saffron Walden.
Churches Together in Saffron Walden
Churches together in Saffron Walden is a committee of people representing all of the churches in and around Saffron Walden whose purpose is to promote and action Christian beliefs by working together.
CMS (Church
Mission Society)
The Society supports some 900 people in missions, working in about 60
countries in Africa, Asia, Middle East and Europe. They cooperate with
local churches as teachers, nurses, doctors, engineers, development
workers, chaplains and theological educators. Our giving supports our
mission partners Jean and Paul Dobbing working in Nepal.
Crosslinks
"God's Word to God's World")
An international mission agency with its roots in the Bible and its
principal sphere of operations in the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Crosslinks' prime focus is making Christ known through the proclamation
and teaching of God's Word in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Daybreak
Drug Project, Dagenham
- Mission: - to promote the care and
rehabilitation of persons resident in
Barking, Dagenham and Havering, who are affected directly and
indirectly by substance misuse, and to promote their physical,
- Strategic aims:- to provide treatment options,
services and information to drug users
and their families
- - to deliver drug awareness training to
professionals, individuals,
churches and other interested groups.
VBS - Vacation Bible School
An annual holiday Bible week taking place at Saffron Walden County High
School in August to introduce young people to the Jesus of the Bible,
helping them build strong and secure lives. Around 550 children aged
from 4 - 13 attend from Saffron Walden and the surrounding villages.
Stort
Valley Schools Trust
SVTS is an independent registered charity formed in 1990 to support
Christian schools work in local secondary schools by employing schools
workers who engage with pupils in schools in the Saffron Walden and
Bishop's Stortford area, participating in school assemblies and
after-school clubs. In the Summer Term, they also visit primary schools
with "It's Your Move" to help year 6 pupils prepare for the move to
secondary schools.
Essex
Clergy Charity
Gives financial assistance to clergy widows, widowers and dependants in
times of need, including illness and bereavement. Help is also given to
support children of clergy whilst at home and also at university or
college.
Friends
of Essex Churches Trust
The Friends raise money for grants to repair and restore Christian
churches and chapels in Essex and the five London boroughs that were
formerly part of the county. It is non-denominational and it
distributed almost £220,000 in 2006 to assist Essex churches
with their repair bills. St Mary's has received help in the past and
sponsorship raised by the Annual Ride and Stride event benefits both
the Friends and St Mary's.
Historic
Churches Preservation Trust
The Historic Churches Preservation Trust and the Incorporated Church
Building Society are now the National Churches Trust. Its primary
purpose is grant-giving, to raise funds and provide practical
assistance to help finance structural repairs to churches, chapels,
meeting houses and other places of worship in England and Wales that
are over 100 years old. St Mary's has received assistance from this
charity.
Essex
Christian Healing Trust
The Trust is an ecumenical body that exists to support and encourage
the Christian Ministry of Healing throughout Essex and East London. We
seek to provide information about initiatives in the Healing Ministry
throughout the area and to act as a resource centre for information on
national Christian Healing Organisations, Counselling Centres etc.
