Home Contact Calendar Help at Special Times Music Services Sermons HealingThe healing ministry of the church reflects Jesus’ concern and promise for the whole person, body, mind and spirit. In his own ministry, Jesus gave high priority to healing the sick. This finds expression in our ministry at St. Mary’s. There are three opportunities each month to receive prayer for healing and the laying on of hands:
Healing FellowshipThis is a group of about 25 people who are committed to pray as requested, for the sick and those in any kind of trouble. The group usually meets on the first Wednesday of each month following the 9.30am Eucharist, to pray together for healing. Telephone Prayer-ChainThis is a quick way of circulating requests for prayer to members of the Healing Fellowship who will then pray daily. Written MessagesYou may leave requests in the Blue Book in the North Chapel, which is used daily by the clergy. In addition, in the South aisle, by the Chapel of Remembrance, there is a board on which you may pin messages asking for prayer. CandlesYou are welcome to light a candle on the stand by the Chapel of Remembrance on behalf of yourself or someone for whom you are concerned. Sometimes it is difficult to know how to pray, but the candle symbolises to God all that is in your heart. Personal VisitsIf you would like someone to come and pray with you privately, please contact the Parish Office, who will put you in touch with members of the congregation who have been authorised by the clergy to offer prayers and the laying on of hands. Alternatively, speak to one of the clergy who will be happy to help you.
