The originals are held at the Essex Records Office in Chelmsford, CM2 6YT (Tel: +44 (0) 1245 244644 or email:enquiry@essexcc.gov.uk). Most of the records up to 1700 have been digitised, whilst others have been microfiched and cataloged, and details can be found at www.essex.gov.uk/ero - select (click on) the SEAX in the centre of the page, then look for "Essex Ancestors" upper right hand side of page, this gets you to the parish registers - select Saffron Walden, then St Mary's.

Apart from two exceptions there have been no burials in St Mary's churchyard since 1892.
