MEN’S WALK – Saturday 14th July 2018
Meet at St. Mary’s Church at 10.00am
The July walk will be in the area of Henham and Chickney. It is about 5 miles in length
Meet at the west door of St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden and travel to the Cock Inn by car. After spending a while passing some of Henham’s thatched properties we turn south-east for Chickney, crossing open farm land and then dive into Hawland Wood. After leaving the wood we approach Chickney. We then turn left and head up Chickney Lane (a shady bridleway) and meet the Road just west of the Rugby Club. We stay on paths and tracks back to Henham. If there is time before lunch we may get the opportunity of spending a moment at St Mary’s Church opposite the Pub.
Members of our Saffron Walden and Villages group of churches together with their invited guests are all welcome especially those who have not joined this walking group before. Want more information, then do contact Anthony Armon-Jones ( firstname.lastname@example.org or 01799 516733).
The Cock Public House – Henham – is reputed to be about 350 years old and is the village’s last remaining public house. In 2009 it was taken over by Mel Pimblett who has lived in Henham all her life. The Pub has a welcoming atmosphere for those who want a drink, eat, or just just have a chat.
ALL ARE WELCOME from the SAFFRON WALDEN AND VILLAGES TEAM MINISTRY
