On Sunday, a group of young people from Aftershock Youth Group at St Mary’s Church, visited Jimmy’s Night Shelter in Cambridge to hand over a cheque for £1,535 which they raised by hosting a Christmas meal. The young people helped to prepare and serve a three course dinner and provided entertainment between the courses which included; dance acts, singing, an amusing monologue and a ‘interesting’ rendition of the 12 days of Christmas. See more photos of this event here.
During their visit to Jimmy’s, the young people had the opportunity to find out more about the night shelter and how it operates by posing their questions to Henry Brown who manages the centre. They also enjoyed a tour of the facilities.
Aftershock meet on Sunday evenings at 7 until 8:30pm in St Mary’s Parish Rooms.
