In February half term 2016 we took 12 young people to Kingsgate Church in Gorleston for a weekend away. The church is more like a community centre with meeting rooms which we turned into bedrooms and a big hall which they use for their Sunday celebration. The young people invented a great game which involved the floor being lava which, when stepped on, would cause a dramatic death! While we were there we looked at the book of Job which was very challenging and brought up lots of questions about suffering and why there is so much in the world. As well as the bible studies we went for a walk on the beach, played a couple of games of quasar and had a film night watching Big Hero 6. My guess is that the young people enjoyed the weekend away as the journey home in the minibus was very quiet.
